Measuring Well-Being in School Cafeterias: Developing Tools to Support Student Mental Health
Protocol: STUDY00009959
Full Title
Student Well-Being and School Cafeteria Environment: Face Validity, Convergent Validity, Feasibility, and Interrater Reliability of Two Scales
Description
Since COVID, student mental health has become a prominent issue. The cafeteria is a key part of the school environment, but there aren’t many tools that see how it affects student well-being. This study is testing two new tools to see if they are useful and accurate. This research will help improve how schools assess and support student well-being in cafeteria settings.
Students in grades 6-8 will complete a survey about their experiences in the cafeteria and join a focus group to share their experiences. They will also fill out a mental health survey.
School staff will complete a survey and give their feedback.
