Understanding and Treating Severe Gum Disease in Children and Teens
Protocol: STUDY00009798
Full Title
Mechanisms and Treatment Response of Aggressive Periodontitis (AgP) in Children; Susceptibility Patterns for Grade C Periodontitis in Young Individuals
Description
We’re looking for participants to help us learn more about a rare type of gum disease that affects young people.
Periodontitis is a gum disease that often runs in families, which suggests that genes may play a role. Scientists have looked at certain genes before, but no one has used a method called exome sequencing to study several affected families at once. This approach could help us find rare genetic changes that may be linked to the disease.
