Tracking Adolescents’ Choice Over Eating (TACOE)
Protocol: STUDY00008691
Full Title
The impact of differences in adolescents' eating autonomy on Type 2 diabetes risk
Description
Does your family have a teen between the ages of 13 to 17 years old? Does someone in your family have Type 2 Diabetes? Your family might be eligible to participate in a University at Buffalo (UB) study focused on learning more about Type 2 Diabetes risk factors!

The UB Department of Family Medicine is running the Tracking Adolescent Choices Over Eating (TACOE) study to help develop new ways to support independent eating habits in teens.

Teens and their parents will attend an hour-long study visit at either UB South Campus, UB Downtown Gateway Building, Conventus, or Jericho Road. They will have their height and weight measured, small finger prick blood sugar measurement, and complete surveys. Teens will earn $30 and parents $25 for this initial visit. Then teens will complete daily text message surveys (taking about 1 minute) about their food choices and experiences for 3 weeks (with breaks in between weeks). Teens can earn up to $200 for completing the surveys.

If you are interested, you and your teen can complete a screening form at: https://redcap.link/TACOE.
