KOASTAL Study for Those Experiencing Depression
Protocol: STUDY00008371
Full Title
Phase 3, Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Study to Evaluate the Effects of Oral NMRA-335140 versus Placebo in Participants with Major Depressive Disorder
Description
The University at Buffalo (UB) Department of Psychiatry is looking for adults living with depression for a clinical trial. The research team is interested in studying how effective a new medicine is at treating symptoms of depression.

Following a month-long preparation phase, they will be randomly assigned (which happens by chance, like flipping a coin) to receive either the study medicine or a placebo (which looks like the study medicine but does not contain any active ingredients) for 6 weeks. Participants will then either have additional follow-up visits in the months to follow to conclude their involvement in the study, or enter into a separate follow-up study for over a year.

Throughout this study, participants will attend in-person study visits and complete surveys and lab tests. Participants will earn between $75 - $150 depending on the study visit.
