A randomized, sham-controLled, clinical Trial For evaLuation Of the EdWards APTURE transcatheter shunt system (ALT-FLOW II)
Description
People diagnosed with chronic heart failure may be eligible for a new clinical trial. The goal of this study is to see if a new device (the APTURE system) can help to improve symptoms related to heart failure.

Participants will be enrolled in this study for about 5 years. Following a screening period, eligible participants will be randomly assigned (which happens by chance, like flipping a coin) to receive either the study device or a sham-procedure. They will complete follow-up appointments at 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and annually through 5 years. Throughout the study they will have physical exams, blood work, other lab tests, and complete surveys.

Participants will receive $50 for completing each in-person study visit.

-Adults 18 years or older
-Have been diagnosed with heart failure
-Speak English
