TRANSCEND-T2D-3 Weight Management Study for Adults with Type 2 Diabetes and Kidney Disease
Protocol: STUDY00008062
Full Title
A Phase 3, Randomized, Multicenter, Double-Blind Study to Investigate the Efficacy and Safety of Retatrutide Once Weekly Compared with Placebo in Adult Participants with Type 2 Diabetes, Moderate or Severe Renal Impairment with Inadequate Glycemic Control on Basal Insulin with or without Metformin and/or SGLT2 inhibitor (TRANSCEND-T2D-3)
Description
The University at Buffalo (UB) Department Medicine is conducting a study for adults that have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) and chronic kidney disease. The goal of the study is to see if the study drug (retatrutide) can help to control blood sugar levels and manage weight in people with T2D.

Participants will be enrolled in this study for about a year. After completing a screening period, eligible participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the study drug or a placebo (which looks like the study drug but contains no medicine). There is 3 times the chance you will receive the study drug compared to placebo. Throughout the study they will complete in-person and virtual study visits, physical exams, blood draws, urine collections, and surveys.

Participants will be paid for completing study visits.
