Dry Eye Disease Study
Protocol: STUDY00006223
Full Title
Neurosensory Abnormalities in Symptomatic Ocular Surface Patients
Description
The University at Buffalo (UB) Department of Ophthalmology is looking for adults with dry eye disease (DED) for a study to be completed during a routine eye appointment. The goal of the study is to learn more about how common eye nerve abnormalities are in people with DED.

Participants will complete the study during a routine eye appointment. The study should take about 30 minutes. In addition to the routine eye tests at the appointment, participants will complete surveys about their background and life experiences and (if applicable) a contact lens survey. They will then have two FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved eye drops placed in the eyes. They will be asked to rate their level of eye discomfort both before and after the drops are given. Participants will receive a $50 gift card for completing the study.
